Hello, my name is Garth Brown and I have been creating affordable housing solutions since 1990.
Until recently, older homeowners have thought the only retirement solution was to sell
their home and move far away to a smaller property and use their proceeds from the sale
for their retirement or move into a retirement home.
Today there are many other options! Some allow you to 'age in place' by creating additional
housing on your property and generate significant monthly income. This same opportunity is available to homeowners of all ages to help create housing for family members such as aging parents and adult children requiring an affordable place to live.
And we can ease the responsibilities of being a landlord!
Based on over a decade of building legal secondary suites providing safe secure homes for families, I decided to scale my passion for housing and introduce this opportunity to homeowners, investors and housing agencies throughout Ontario and beyond! By-laws are evolving to provide new and exciting housing options for homeowners everywhere!
I begin by listening to the housing needs of you, the homeowner. Based on your current and future ambitions, I provide options for your consideration. These options are focused on bettering your home environment for today and for the future and introducing you to housing options available on your property to ensure you can age in place; provide housing for an aging relations; adult children and their families; children with developmental challenges; an apartment for caregivers; and other family needs.
Beyond family needs, some homeowners have rented their units out to ""market rent" tenants. Other homeowners have chosen to help a family or individual in need from the Housing Wait List or a housing agency in their community. The tenants pay 30% of their gross household income, respect their home because they know they have a great housing arrangement and respect other people living on their property. The housing authority provides a generous rent subsidy directly to the homeowner monthly and also offers the homeowner important landlord supports.
I have also aligned with a network of builders offering a range of construction methods, pricing and backgrounds. You can choose the builder that is right for you with the assurance you are not alone with your selection.
We will also study financial incentives available in your municipality to ensure you get the best value for your investment.
